A new space – “Live Square” will energize Gediminas Avenue in Vilnius
On the 26th through 29th of August, a new space “Live Square” located in Gediminas Avenue of the country’s capital, not far from Lukiškės Square, will be opened to the public. It is expected to energize the main street of the city, and the public terrace will become a new attraction of the locals. On the 29th of August, Thursday, at 05:00 PM, we invite you to attend the birth of the installation during which the performative work “Step by Step” will be performed. During the show, the performers of the Chamber Choir “Brevis”, changing their positions on the escalator, will produce musical chords and various melodies.
On the opening days, “Live Square” will be filled with mirror installations called “City Reflections”. Mirror elements of various shapes situated in different places will invite to experience the transformations of the urban space, and to perpetuate oneself in the city reflections.
The festive mood will be created by musical performances – energetic Ruth Loop, combining different styles of music in her works, will share her vivacious pieces of music, the string quartet Art Vio, and multi-instrumentalist Saulius Petreikis.
On the 26th through 28th of August, the residents of Vilnius will also be able to take special tours around the first four-star hotel in Lithuania “Hilton Garden Inn”. By the way, it requires pre-registration.
On the 27th of August, at 05:00 PM, the talk about Gediminas Avenue – its development, historical changes, challenges of the present day and future prospects will take place on the public “Live Square” terrace. Mindaugas Pakalnis, the Chief Architect of Vilnius city, Ingrida Tamošiūnienė, the author of the book about Gediminas Avenue, art historian Saulius Pilinkus, who will remember the bohemian days spent together with maestro Vytautas Kernagis, Domas Dargis, the CEO of the company EIKA that has built “Live Square”, and the residents of the avenue plan to take part in the public discussion.
“Live Square”, that was built in nearly two years, interconnects a business centre with an area of 6,300 square meters with a shopping arcade, 164-room 4-star hotel “Hilton Garden Inn” with a conference centre of 250 square meters, 88-apartment residential buildings.
The law firm ”Sorainen” and the first in the Baltic States co-working area ”Spaces” are the tenants of the spaces of the business centre.
A coffee bar ”Vero Cafe”, ”Benu” pharmacy, flower shop ”Florisima”, Swiss watch shop ”Geneva”, tea shop ”Formosa”, ”Narvesen” store and the first new concept store ”Rimi Express” operate in the shopping arcade.
